BENCH

Every repair.
A clear next step.

A digital workspace for equipment repair businesses. From the first reported fault to the final collection, BENCH keeps the job, the team and the customer connected.

Captured from the working application. Northline Equipment Service and the repair records are fictional.

01 / The business problem

The repair is only
part of the job.

A machine arrives with a fault. Someone records it, a technician investigates, the customer needs a price, and the repair must be checked before collection. Each handover creates something to remember.

BENCH explores how those steps can live together instead of being spread across paper job sheets, messages and separate records. Staff can see what needs attention; customers can review the work before it begins.

02 / Follow one repair

A pressure washer.
One complete journey.

  1. Receive the equipment.

Record the customer, the reported fault, the machine’s condition and anything that came with it.

  2. Inspect and explain.

The technician documents the diagnosis. An itemised estimate makes the proposed work and cost clear.

  3. Let the customer decide.

The customer reviews the exact estimate revision and approves or declines it. Repair work waits for approval.

  4. Repair, then check.

Track the work and complete quality checks. A failed check or a parts delay remains visible rather than disappearing into a note.

  5. Complete the handover.

Mark the machine ready, record collection and retain the job’s progress history.

03 / The customer’s side

A clear decision.
Before the work begins.

The customer view shows the proposed repair, the itemised price, what is excluded and the latest update. It keeps workshop notes separate from the information the customer needs.

If the scope changes, a new estimate revision needs a new decision. An old approval cannot silently authorise different work.

04 / Design & delivery

Built around
the workbench.

A service register, repair docket and plain action labels give the interface the character of a workshop. Restrained colour draws attention to decisions and delays. The same repair stays connected across reception, the technician’s work and the customer view.

The working application includes recoverable drafts, equipment images, printable dockets and progress history. It runs on phones as well as larger screens.

22 checks
Automated workflow tests passed for the hosting version.
Saved records
A test workspace survived a live redeployment with its repair links intact.
Phone & print
Phone rendering and native print pagination were checked on real devices by the project owner.

05 / About the concept

A working concept.
A practical possibility.

Independent concept by KaliCodes. Northline is a fictional repair business; this is not a commissioned client project or a claim of business results.

Each visitor gets an isolated workspace that expires after 24 hours. Role switching and notifications are simulated; no real email, SMS or payments are sent. Use fictional information when exploring.

The free hosting service sleeps when idle, so the first visit may take 50 seconds or more to open.
